Some photo's below of the cut wires that
had to have hours of manpower out to repair, this along with
the problems it caused of having no phone contact for the shop's
etc. If money is getting regenerated into the area then the
last thing we need is for it to be spent like this when so many
kids are enthusiastic and want good football,Boxing, skateboard,
etc facilities in the area.Maybe Insurance pay's I don't know
but then the premiums will go up and the risk of becoming a
higher risk for insuring which will raise the cost. Catch 22
situation! No one wins!
Either during or after this spate of
madness I have now been informed that the wires to the "emergency
lifelines" that go to the elderly people's bungalows were
also cut. These pull alarms are sometimes the only help someone
living alone and infirm are going to get. These mindless yob's
who are doing these things are not invisable someone somewhere
can see what's going on and someone somewhere are closing their
eyes to it. The old "I'm alright Jack" syndrome. The
worrying thing is that a lot of this vandalism is not being
done by what you would call Young adults, but by "children"
most of whom should have been indoors long before their actions
were taking place. Maybe a curfew would do the trick with an
age limit for those wandering around after dark. Sorry state
of affairs but something has to be done. The tragedy is that
there are so many good kids in MaesG who get tarred with the
same brush and their achievements are over shadowed by what
the minority do. Some more incidents might get reported on the
Forum as time goes on so if your interested or want something
included just pop along over and write it in yourself or drop
me a line.
I was very pleased this week when BBC
wrote to me saying they had put a link to my site on theirs,
so be assured our new's goes far and wide infact worldwide I
know for a fact from the many mails I get.Link is below if you
want to look and see how we get around.
