Work
started this week on the Cyd Coed Tree Planting contract at the
back of Min y Ddol behind the present football field. Here are some
photos of the work being carried out by Andrew Kehoe Countryside
Services, the owner can be seen driving the small excavator in the
photo below. It covers an area in excess of 2 acres and the trees
being planted will be a variety of Oak, Ash, Birch, Hazel, Lime,
Holly, Alder Willow and various others, all chosen by various people
of MaesG. The tree planting ceremony took place on Saturday the
25th of January 2003 at 11-00 AM.
The other workers in the photo are Alan, our local resident (bottom
right) and the other worker is Jooles seen swinging the hammer in
a very effective manner (top right). Many of us have now picked
trees to be planted in memory of our deceased loved ones. I know
that I personally appreciate this gesture of remembrance for people
who spent the majority of their lives here.
