The
school's woodland project 'Fy Nghoeden' is still ongoing. I
can't tell you how impressed I was when I saw the work that has gone
on here. Like quite a few of you on this estate we are 2nd and 3rd
generation families. I brought my children up in Glan
Cegin School when it was newly built and to
see it in its present form is fantastic. This estate should be praised
for what it does have and not for what it lacks.
This week and next there will be contractors on site establishing
some footpaths through the newly planted areas. Also included will
be some areas for seating/tables for nature lessons and for lessons
outdoors on sunny days......Wow, you know I hope you take a moment
or two to really think about what is going on here. When so many schools
are talking about vandalism, crime, lack of pupil interest, here we
have this great project going on that has taken what the children
also want onboard. Something that they have a hand in themselves.
I can't wait for maybe next year when photos of these trees and the
seating area are available to go up on this site.
